I guess opinions fall into one of two camps on this issue.
Either you think affordable health care should be available to the citizens of the richest society, or you don't.
How the insurance market works is pretty easy to understand.
Why it works that way is, too.
The richest people used to receive a tax bill. Now they don't. Instead of going back to the society that fostered it, spare wealth goes to buying another yacht or another castle.
As Charlie Munger used to say, you want your incentives to be aligned with your goal.
