The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

I hope he pulls the Rebpulikkkans in the House, Senate, state houses, county and city council, and even school and library boards down with him. Phillip Bump looks at a YouGov survey.

Republicans are not as enthusiastic about Trump as they used to be.

We can see this in Trump's approval polling, where the percentage of Republicans saying they "somewhat" approve of Trump has risen while the percentage who say they "strongly" approve has fallen.

We can also see it in recent polling from YouGov. The pollster revisited a battery of questions they asked Americans soon after Trump's 2024 presidential victory. Respondents were asked, both then and this month, whether they thought particular positive or negative terms applied to Trump. The percentage saying they thought various positive terms applied — "intelligent," "honest" — broadly fell while embrace of the negative ones — "arrogant," "ineffective" — rose.

The graphs are eye-opening and probably explain why his endorsed candidates are struggling or running away from him. For example:
