Police and National Guard responded. What was especially stupid was this guy rolling up on his bike. Those wheels go for ~$1500 and I'm sure the rest of his bike was around $6k minimum. Since no one will watch the video: the National Guard had a nice chat with him and then he wound up in handcuffs being told he was getting a case number.
The problem with your whitewashing of the insanity is that many of these monuments fell into disrepair over the years and no one said a word about them. Only now that Trump is one actually deciding to clean things up do we have a problem with crazy morons coming out to protest in favor of algae. And physically interfere with US Park workers.
