By sheer coincidence (honestly!), I was writing this Shrewd'm
suggestion when I read your post:

a single link, have the server respond with something like:
Dear Shrewd'm member:We welcome your contributions to the site, but submitting urlsshould be accompanied with the following text:1. A short summary of the link content.2. Your opinion of who and why they might benefit reading the submitted link.3. (Bonus!) Why someone might not be interested in the link.--------------------------------------------------------------------------
You could then decide a minimal word count that should accompany
the url post.
I think this feature alone might address the majority of minimal link
posting without offending anyone directly.
