Where Israel stands remains unclear
"Bibi" takes a page from "W's" book, and insists that Hamas is still hiding weapons, no matter how much hardware they surrender. You can't prove a negative, so Israel can continue to do as it pleases.
There must be a bill in Congress that is really important to "Bibi".
from the net sifter:
The House of Representatives passed the Fiscal Year 2027 NDAA with Section 219 intact, establishing a United States–Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative. This provision directs the Pentagon to appoint an executive agent to coordinate joint research, development, testing, and industrial cooperation with Israel, covering technologies such as drones, missile defense, AI, cybersecurity, and biotechnology. Attempts by Representatives Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) and Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) to remove Section 219 were blocked by the House Rules Committee, and the final House vote passed narrowly at 216-212
The Senate version of the NDAA contains a parallel provision, Section 1217, which mirrors Section 219 and incorporates the FUTURES Act framework. However, the Senate has stalled consideration: a procedural vote to begin debate on the bill failed 50-46, falling short of the 60 votes needed for cloture. Opposition comes from senators including Bernie Sanders, Chris Van Hollen, Elizabeth Warren, Ed Markey, Jeff Merkley, and Peter Welch, who argue that the provision could compromise U.S. sovereignty and military oversight. Procedural failures mean the Senate has not yet voted on the final NDAA or directly on Section
So, if "Bibi" makes a show of suddenly not being a genocidal maniac, maybe more Senators can be bought off to agree to give Israel an open door to all the US' top secred military research. Soon as he has it, he can repudiate the "deal", and go back to exterminating Pals.
