It is a distraction, and deliberately so. They're yelling "squirrel!" in hopes that their own MAGA ranks will look away. Even the MAGA-verse is called the Administration out on the pedophile thing. Not that he'll lose many votes, but they want more answers than they feel they're getting.
I've seen some moderately deep-dives on "Russia Russia Russia". We already know pretty much everything there is to know, because it was investigated exhaustively. The Steele Dossier was iffy, but they unearthed a lot more stuff independently of that. Russia tried, and failed, to hack the election directly. But they were successful in launching a fake news campaign in social media. There were also a few invitations by one of the candidates at the time to hack the other candidate. Several people were caught and prosecuted.
We might regard reopening this as a waste of time. But, as stated in this thread, it's really just a desperate attempt to distract the masses, and hope they forget about the Felon-pedophile. They'll have to control the narrative very carefully, or it could blow up in their faces (again) because there was misconduct on the part of the Felon and his team. We already know that.
