wish i could track down the source, but one observer noted something along the lines of
'the constitution was never designed to protect from corruption on the level of someone like trump...it was not within the founders' imagination'

the main idea being loopholes and abstract terms were included to allow some leeway to well-intentioned leaders with some level of decency that may make mistakes on behalf of the nation's interests.
but what these loopholes have turned into is political platforms for the legislature and twister for the judiciary.

currently, we are seeing peak pre-election GOP employment jousting for working under trump.
will we see fair-weather fans in congress and SCOTUS, that all deny their past support, if trump loses? don himself would have it no other way.
