Kristi Noem, a strong contender to be named running mate to Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, recounts in an upcoming book the story of killing her 14-month-old ill-behaved puppy, Cricket.
Noem recounts the story of the puppy ruining a pheasant hunt by “chasing all those birds and having the time of her life”. Hunt ruined, Noem took the puppy home but decided to stop by a neighbor's on the way where she let the puppy that she knew was exhibiting behavior issues run free -- “the picture of pure joy” -- to kill some of the family's chickens.
Umm. Sure, sound judgment there.
In fairness, she did have an extra-marital affair with Corey Lewandowski (who was also married at the time), so maybe 'sound judgment' is not her long suit.
“I hated that dog,” Noem writes, adding that Cricket had proved herself “untrainable”.
So whatcha' gonna' do with an untrainable dog?
You go get the family goat and shoot them both.
You see, the Noem family also owned a male goat that was “nasty and mean” and smelled bad so she took the puppy and goat out to a gravel pit in the backyard and shot them both as the startled workers of a construction crew looked on.
In normal times, I'd say this would eliminate her from running mate contention but who am I kidding? In MAGAt World this probably cinches her place on the ticket.
