If Sirius XM stopped playing stupid games with their subscribers and price, they'd not lose so many accounts.
The first year is around $100. The "retail" price is like $35/month ($420/yr). You have to call and threaten to quit and they'll give you another year "one time only" for anywhere between $60 and $120. You have to do this every damn year.
I have gotten the "one time only" deal for the last 10 years.
Finally this year the guy offered me $6.99/mo (plus tax) for ever, no need to call ever again. He said that only a very few customers got this offer --- which I kind of believe, but not really.
The only reason I take Sirius is because we live in the mountains and the local FM stations fade in and out as we drive around. Plus my wife hated, Hated, HATED me changing stations every time a commercial came on.
