The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

We retired over the years ago. Earlier this year I sold some ESPP shares. It would be a qualifying disposition.

First, do I need to notify the company? While I worked there, they would send out forms to declare the qualifying disposition.

Second, they used to report the ESPP as w2 income. I don't remember if they charged that when we received the shares, or when we sold the shares. We had a 15% discount purchase price, too. I think it was reported as w2 income upon sale. But I have no w2 now.

Help??
