Heirs are irrelevant, IMO. 1poormom consulted a financial adviser, and he told her the same thing. You save for yourself. It's your money, spend it on yourself. She told me that, and I agreed. I wish she had done more of it for herself. As it happens, she left me an IRA.
We're spending 1poorkid's inheritance. She'll get what's left over, but I not planning for that. She gets what she gets. We're living our retirement how we want without a second thought to leaving her any money.
