I suspect there won't be much support for repeal. Voters like it. Any talk of repeal will generate an excrement storm. Just like when they mention cutting SS or Medicare...the knives come out, and the politicians back-down. Except maybe the most rabid among them.

I think this has become a third rail. Perhaps not as bad as SS or Medicare, but touching it would be a bad idea unless you're in a very safe district.

The convict won't care, of course. But it would first have to get past a bunch of congress-slime that wouldn't want to touch it for fear of losing their jobs.
