Malthus was right about the limits to human population, only wrong about the limiting factors. It’s not the limit to growing food. It’s the destruction and depletion of resources that results from growing the food, and from other human activities. The destruction of our ability to live on this planet IS the topic and it results directly from over population. Trying to address the myriad problems that result from over population - climate change, ocean depletion, mass extinction, water shortage, diseases and pandemics, pollution that directly damages human health, the mass migrations and social disruptions that result - is a game of whack a mole. It’s impossible to win that game without returning the human population to a sustainable level.
