Abbott has taken millions in donations from big tech/data centers. Now that the public has woken up to the harms of these things, he is back tracking quickly. And it is bi-partisan hate for this industry, not just from squishy liberals like me. The town hall meetings I’ve been to is actually mostly Republican small land owners, farmers, etc (I’m in a very red area), and they are mad as hell about the water issue.
I fear Abbott will relax his moratorium as soon as the outrage has died down however. He has to keep that donation money flowing and reward his big donors!
