Ethnic cleansing of Muslim and Christian inhabitants of Palestine by Zionist terror groups was well underway prior to the Israeli Declaration of Independence.

Ethnic cleansing and terror attacks against Jewish inhabitants of Israel by Palestinian terror groups were well underway prior to the formation of any future Palestinian state as well. Yet we do not infer that this means that any future such state would engage in purging their substantial Jewish minority in furtherance of a Palestinian state. Indeed, when Jews in Israel express such concerns as a reason for not wanting a one-state solution, they are dismissed as groundless at best and often criticized as prejudiced. Instead, they are assured that once the Palestinians have a state, the terror and ethnic cleansing will stop.

Surely that would also apply to our imagining about what would happen had Israel not been attacked and invaded by Jordan and Egypt the moment if formed - right? That having achieved statehood and being allowed to peacefully exist, that would end the violence?
