That's my name, not penned in any publication that I'm aware of.
The Felon is reversing the policy on plastic drinking straws because....spite? Experts-are-always-wrong? Who knows.
https://www.npr.org/2025/02/11/nx-s1-5292234/trump...This article emphasized the single-use plastic aspect. Which is certainly valid, IMO. But as we learn more about micro- and nano-plastics, I'm more concerned about the potential health effects of that. Just read a study in which they were finding nano-plastics in brain matter. Too early to see if it causes actual health problems, but at the very minimum they shouldn't be there.
Though the executive order aims to "alleviate the forced use of paper straws nationwide," according to a White House fact sheet, plastic straw bans and restrictions will remain in effect in cities and states across the country.Yeah, so states can still do what they like. Perhaps this was more of a publicity stunt than an actual agenda priority.
