Interesting read on Dollar Tree

https://www.amazon.com/One-Buck-Time-Insiders-Amer...

Describes that opening new stores in the beginning paid for the investment in one year. In fact some paid for themselves plus another store in one year. I haven't run the current numbers but it seems so. How else could you both of the Dollar Store chains open so many so quick.

The economics are easy to understand. The moat to some extent is that know one will put another dollar store in a 500 person town.

The financial engineering of the balance sheet seems to have flexibility or maneuverability. Right? The income statement has scale. In other words it's a large enough business to afford good IT, logistics, management, buying power, etc.. Right?

Simple enough even a dummy could run it. Right?
