The Spain and France fire losses are going to be big maybe a record. Berkshire gets a little over 3% of most large losses so I'm sure they will get their "fair" share. With all of the newbie's coming to the space we need some good losses so they can learn the business isn't easy.
The next large opportunity for BRK is going to be the large data centers being built out and trying to get financed now. Lenders will want insurance- good insurance. We're looking at concentrated assets in the $40-50B range. This is gigantic exposure in one place. There are only a couple of reinsurers that have that kind of capital capacity and reputation. If you're a lender with your own money at risk will you trust PE to pay? Instead of Berkshires normal 3% share they might get 4-5% at a harden insurance price. And that's for maybe a new $7T market out there. As they say, nice business if you can get it. Not a needle mover for BRK but a very nice addition to there float and to their float cost, hopefully. It works out to about 1-3% of the reinsurance groups revenue by 2030.
