Personally, even with the positives, I could not support the criminal behavior and lack of ethics of that president.
That may be so. But that doesn't mean there wouldn't be many millions of Democrats who disagreed.
Or not even disagreed. Who decided that they could approve of that President's performance - and thus give that response to pollsters - without supporting his criminal behavior or lack of ethics. Or who didn't support the criminal behavior and lack of ethics (any more than you do), but who felt it was outweighed by the good caused by saving abortion rights and fixing money in politics and getting sane gun policy back and having Medicare for All. And for some hardcore progressives, the stuff you mention above wouldn't register all that hard. They would either think it was overblown by the enemies of a progressive President, or just not really be too aware of it since it wouldn't be talked about on MSNBC or HuffPo.
