Not because that 30% was stupid, but because he had delivered something they wanted so much that they would look past the other horrors and give him a net passing grade.
Respectfully, I disagree.
Yes, I’d be happy with a progressive Supreme Court and Medicare for all. Very happy. Even very, very happy. Ok, ecstatic.
But if that president also:
-Grifted billions of taxpayer $ for himself and family/pals
-Started another endless Middle East war
-Was mentioned more than 38,000 times in the Epstein files
-Moved a convicted sex trafficker to a cushion jail
-Was convicted of 34 felonies
-Held liable for sexual assault by a federal jury
-Had sex with a prostitute while his wife was pregnant
-Stole from his charity
-Nominated totally incompetent cabinet members to key positions
-Was a pathological liar
-Was OK having a law enforcement agency kill American protesters
-Had policies that created increased costs across the board
-Cozied up to, and looked up to, dictators
-Slashed social services
-Extended tax breaks for billionaires
-Weaponized the DOJ
-Violated the Constitution daily
Well, I could go on and on, but I think you get my drift.
Personally, even with the positives, I could not support the criminal behavior and lack of ethics of that president.
I think Republicans, in general, are much more tolerant of their politicians than Democrats are. Hell, the Democrats forced a Democratic Senator out of office for a stupid, sophomoric, sexual joke! Republicans still support a Senator who most likely is in a coma. OK, to be fair, being in a coma is pretty standard for Republican Senators.
