Back in the day, America was so "jingoistic" and "Ugly". Everyone from kids to adults knew them Russian Pinkos were bad news ----while out was White Liberals telling us otherwise, and looking down at us.

Sure there were always divisions but on big things, especially at Water's Edge - Americans, at least a majority of Americans were together. Whether you were. a Truman D or a Reagan R - you had a strong hand in dealing with the Soviet Union.
