The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

Had vaccination rates been at the level they were until fairly recently, nobody would have noticed the schlepper- except as an isolated case

There's an assumption you're making throughout this "analysis": that the folks refusing shots are Americans.

Drilling down further into county-level data can offer more clarity than state-level data, but even that can overshadow what’s happening within smaller populations, Smith explains. In Gaines County, most initial cases appear to have occurred within a “close-knit, under-vaccinated” Mennonite community, according to a state health department spokesperson. What’s more, Gaines County has a large homeschooled population that isn’t included in school district data—so the number of unvaccinated children is likely higher than official reports.

It's always them weirdos in certain communities, isn't it?
