In what time frame? Our species originated in central Africa, I believe. There was no one in Palestine then. Eventually humans migrated. I don't know how many conflicts were fought between then and the Roman era. Probably lots, though also probably small scale. None of those people were from that region initially, until they all were. Is that when we declare them "indigenous"?

It is a fact of life that pretty much everywhere has been conquered and/or changed hands at least once. It's unreasonable to expect people several generations later to accept being relocated because someone asserts prior indigenousness. Native Americans are not getting back Manhattan (or anywhere else). First Peoples aren't getting Canada back. Aboriginal people aren't getting Australia back. Why should either the Jews or the Palestinians expect their situation is any different? What's so special about either group?

I won't engage on "what if" (e.g. Egypt and Jordan didn't attack). Possibly interesting, but not helpful today. It won't help the tragedy that is Palestine/Israel. IMO, nothing can help now. Neither side is willing to give an inch, Each wants the other gone, pushed into the sea. They have to want to stop, but they don't.

The USA should disengage completely. We shouldn't participate or facility atrocities by either side. Just stand back and see if they get tired of the rivers of blood before they wipe each other out. At present that's all they want to do. As I said, a tragedy.

And I don't accept that religion is not at the minimum a force multiplier. Jerusalem is a powder keg. Watch what happens if someone blows up that mosque (as some Israelis advocate). Look up the videos of xians beating each other with brooms over who cleans which bit of a church. Etc. Both peoples claim indigenousness. But it's more than that. Both believe that land was promised to them by god (or is in some way sacred). They won't compromise on god.
