The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

from the net sifter:

Democratic National Committee Chair Ken Martin publicly condemned far‑left streamer Hasan Piker’s antisemitic remarks, joining other top Democrats in warning that such comments should not be tolerated — a stance that also reflects the party’s broader scrutiny of El‑Sayed’s associations and rhetoric.

Michigan Democrat declines to endorse El-Sayed

Rep. Hillary Scholten, D-Mich., says she has not endorsed her party's U.S. Senate nominee, Abdul El-Sayed, citing his ties to streamer Hasan Piker and comments from Piker that she has condemned as antisemitic.

"Abdul has not reached out to me yet," Scholten told reporters Tuesday at a town hall in Saugatuck, a small community near Lake Michigan.

Michigan AG says she fears candidate El-Sayed is rationalizing terrorism, Jewish voters are torn

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, a Jewish Democrat, says in an interview that she fears the state’s Senate candidate, Abdul El-Sayed, is rationalizing terrorism and that the party is ostracizing Jews.

After a terrorist attempted an attack earlier this year against a synagogue in West Bloomfield, Michigan — Nessel’s hometown — El-Sayed linked the attack to the conflict in Lebanon and said, “Hurt people hurt people.”

Seems Dems want the seat to go to the GOP nominee.

Mike Rogers attacks waste and fraud while taking money from donors linked to both

Rogers’ campaign and political committees supporting him have accepted more than $234,000 from three donors connected to fraud cases, including a businessman whose company paid $9 million to resolve allegations that it improperly obtained a taxpayer-funded pandemic loan and another donor who pleaded guilty to fraud in the notorious Jack Abramoff casino scandal, according to research provided exclusively to Metro Times by American Bridge 21st Century, a Democratic opposition research group.

But, unlike El-Sayed, Rogers is a loyal servant of Israel, so that apparently makes his questionable ethics acceptable, and makes him the preferred candidate of corporate Dems.
