Yeah. Average actual medical costs - money paid for medical services - for someone in their later years but not yet on Medicare is around $11-13K. But it's even higher in Alaska, which has some of the most expensive health care in the country. It's just more costly to provide health care services in a more remote location. So you'd see closer to $16-18K for folks up there. This guy seems late 50's or early 60's and has a spouse, and is already on expensive medications, so that's where he's going to land in terms of annual health care expenditures.
