Never said that. Iran, for example, is a direct result of our (and the Brits) removal of Mossadegh. Because he was too commie (nationalizing their oil...the nerve!!) for us, even though he was duly elected. Then we got the Shah (dictator) whom we supported until the mullahs got enough support to overthrow him and take over. They've been our enemy ever since. And the Felon bombed them, which made matters worse. If we had held to our ideals of democracy, likely none of this would have happened, and the Strait would be open.

Another of our ideals is that genocide is generally bad. Not a perfect record on that (e.g. SS St Louis). But we are supporting a nation that is engaging in slow-motion genocide. And we shouldn't. I don't care if that nation is Israel or Britain or whomever. And I don't care if they are strategic. Genocide is bad. Supporting Israel just because they are strategic is like supporting the Shah or Marcos because they weren't communists. It's reprehensible, and will have unforeseen consequences in the future (the Shah we see, Marcos has been less severe for us...the Filipinos still like us mostly, Pinochet was our shame, etc).
