And have that debate on the big stage in 2030.
Interesting idea. The debate could be a mess, though. Reps have successfully framed taxes as "theft", and such. The debate would be "they have to raise you taxes! you don't want higher taxes! we'll push a tax cut for you!". Dems would have to get people to understand it's not how much you pay, but what you get for your money. That flies in the face of the decades of propaganda "taxes are bad, government is bad".
So I'm not sure you could jump straight into the deep end like that. I think you would have to nudge people along.
