he state of Illinois would be prepared to bring a lawsuit against the federal government if it withholds public funding over the sanctuary state policies.

Last time, the Feds seemed to want to co-op local police. Local police explained that to keep crime down they need the cooperation of immigrant communities. So we're going to create a condition where community cooperation may stop, increasing crime, by withholding Federal funds, so we can get and deport criminals. Sounds like lose-lose to me. I want less crime. So let the Governor make statements, ask for his cooperation in deporting criminals and I think you'll get that cooperation.
